Gabe Grazier takes 2nd place at 4A State Wrestling Tournament.

OHS Jazz band and combo had a busy couple of weeks. We traveled to Pittsburg State University on Friday March 4th. The students earned superior ratings and had the opportunity to hear The US Air Force Airmen of Note Jazz group. Outstanding soloists Kalei Kellogg, Shaun Roberts, Dugan Gibson and Keaton Braggs.
March 8th, the Jazz band and combo competed at The Green Country Jazz Festival in Tahlequah, where they earned 96,93, and 88 from the 3 judges out of 100 possible points. Combo 93,90 and 88 points.

All three choirs received straight 1’s (Superior rating) from all judges in their concert performances. The Middle school treble choir also received a Superior rating in Sight reading earning them an Outstanding Achievement award!!
The Jazz Band and Combo competed at the Edison Jazz Festival on Friday, March 25th. Both groups earned Superior ratings racking up 192 points out of 200 possible. The Jazz Band came in 2nd place overall out of all class sizes.

The Oologah Speech & Debate teams returned from the OSSAA regional competition with outstanding results! 15 students qualified for the state tournament to be held at OU April 8-9 and the team won 2nd place sweepstakes!

Josh Garrison secured 4th place at the Skiatook Invitational held at Mohawk Golf Course today 3/9/22. Garrison scored a 77 within a field of 165 golfers from around the state.

Jacob Mader secured 3rd place at the Miami Invitational held at Peoria Ridge Golf Course on 3/28/22. Mader scored a 77 within a field of 103 golfers from around Northeastern Oklahoma.

Jacob Mader won 6th place out of 10 teams at the Tahlequah Invitational Golf tournament

The team posted a combined score of 340 to win the Verdigris Valley Conference Golf tournament at Mohawk park on 4/13/22!! Individually, Josh Garrison won 1st place, Ty Stephens 2nd place, and Jacob Mader 3rd place!!

Boy's varsity golf team won 1st place at the Catoosa Tournament on 4/21/22 Jacob Mader placed 1st, Josh Garrison 2nd, Aidan Trimble 4th, and Ty Stephens 5th


OHS Men’s ensemble received a Superior rating on their performance at the OSSAA State solo/ensemble contest today at OBU. Hans Cagle also received an Excellent rating on his solo performance.
Men’s ensemble included:
8th graders- Ty Lowther and Malachi Buchanan
9th graders- Boston Breshears, Carson Giertz, London Leigh, Thomas Lester
10th graders- Tanner Luce and Nick Vue
11th graders- Hans Cagle and Jay Vanderpool
12th grader- Ethan Garcia
We had one small ensemble compete at State Solo & Ensemble at OSU, Stillwater on 04/21/22 and three soloists.
The Saxophone/Drum Set Sextet of Dugan Gibson, Connor Edens, Shaun Roberts, Shane Edens, Jacob Harrington, & Kalei Kellog earned an Excellent Rating.
All three Soloists, Dugan Gibson (Clarinet), Connor Edens (Alto Sax), and Shane Edens (Bass Clarinet), all earned Superior Ratings!
The OHS debate team attended the NSDA Student Congress on Friday, 04/22/22 and returned with some big results!
Tanner Kallam won the award for outstanding legislation for his resolution to reform solitary confinement in prisons.
We also learned that seniors Alec Chamberlin and Emily Alberty will be advancing to the NSDA national tournament in Public Forum Debate. The competition will be held in Louisville, Kentucky in June.




Our Jazz Band was crowned 2022 4A State Champions! They performed 3 pieces and were unbelievable!

Please congratulate Jacob Mader and Josh Garrison for securing 3rd place at the Pryor golf tournament on Thursday, April 28th!! Both Josh and Jacob both shot a fantastic score of 76!!

On April 30th at the Heartland music festival, the 6th and 7th-8th grade choirs both received Superior ratings from both judges earning them a Superior rating as well as a Sweepstakes award. The 7th-8th treble choir was also awarded a Distinguished performance award by the judges! The Soprano section of the 7/8th choir received medals for outstanding section and Maggie Hannon, Madeline Adkins and Cole Wells received outstanding singer trophies from the judges.

The OHS mixed and treble choirs traveled to Branson for the Heartland music festival. We competed in the Heartland music festival (and received Sweepstakes awards for both choirs for receiving Superior ratings from both judges).

The Oologah High school select choir received the OSSAA Distinguished Academic Achievement award for the 3rd year in a row!!! These smarties had a combined GPA of 3.71. You must have a 3.5 or higher to receive this award. So proud of these students who achieved so much success in choir but also with their high academic achievement!
