Smith

Mrs. Kadie Smith is the 2024 Oologah High School Teacher of the Year. Smith has been the Agricultural Education teacher and FFA Advisor at Oologah for 10 years. During her time in the classroom her students have found success through a wide array of opportunities including 16 proficiency winners at the state level, 4 Oklahoma State Star winners, 46 Oklahoma Agriscience fair division winners, and she has coached the state winning Agricultural Issues team 3 times. In addition to student awards, the FFA chapter has been named a National FFA 3 Star Chapter and Premier Chapter finalist under her leadership. In regard to leadership, Smith has been a member of the OAETA board of directors for 7 years serving as the Area Vice President and board representative. Through this organization she has been named the state and region’s Ideas Unlimited winner, Outstanding Early Career teacher and most recently - Outstanding Ag Ed Teacher in 2023. Mrs. Smith sees great value in giving back and has hosted 4 student teachers, served as the Teacher in Residence for OSU’s Ag Ed Department, and frequently serves as a guest speaker for new incoming teachers to the profession. Outside of the classroom, Kadie and her husband Zach are raising two little Mustangs, Tinley (first grade) and Zaylee (PreK). They operate a custom hay business and somehow Kadie still finds time to add to her collection of western and agricultural themed antiques.

Rogers

Mrs. Rogers has been teaching for 28 years. Twenty of those years have been at Oologah Middle School. This is the second time Mrs. Rogers has been voted by her colleagues as OMS Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Rogers’ goal is to create a safe, yet fun, environment where students can enjoy learning about the world around them. She believes that teaching is her calling. She loves planning and implementing lessons that allow her students to walk away with a new and deeper worldview. Mrs. Rogers loves it when former students stop by and tell her how much they enjoyed her class. Her proudest accomplishment is that two of her four daughters have chosen education as part of their life calling. She believes the legacy of her life is being lived out in how her daughters apply her love of learning to others. Watching them interact with their children, and the lives of young people around them brings her great joy.

Weeks

This is Lindsey Weeks's fifth year teaching at Oologah Upper Elementary. She lives in Owasso with her husband, two dogs, Barrett and Sawyer, and cat, Grady. Their favorite things to do are travel and spend time with family at Grand Lake. She graduated from Oklahoma State University with her Bachelors in Elementary Education, then completed her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Being a lifelong learner brings her so much joy! Mrs. Weeks is an incredible asset to our team at the Upper, and the relationships she has formed with her students are invaluable. We are so thankful for the positivity she brings to our school, and all she does for the staff and students at the Upper!

Wingo

Ms. Wingo has been teaching for six years. For four of those years, she has taught first grade at Oologah’s Lower Elementary. Ms. Wingo graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education in 2018. This year, she completed the LETRS training program online through the state of Oklahoma, furthering her knowledge of the science of reading. Her hobbies include reading, running, gardening, and baking.
