Good morning, Mustang Families! We're sure it's no surprise, but tomorrow will be another snow day. Students are also off on Friday for Parent-Teacher Conferences, so we will welcome everyone back on Monday. We will also be reaching out on Monday with the plan for making up yesterday and today, as well as any conferences that have been cancelled. We can't wait for the beautiful weather next week so we can see everyone back at school! Be safe and warm, and have a wonderful Wednesday!

Good afternoon! We hope everyone is staying warm and safe in this snowy weather! Tomorrow will be another snow day for OTPS, and no work will be assigned. Today is our last built-in snow day, so any other snow days this week will have to be made up. As a reminder, Friday is already a day off for students due to Parent-Teacher Conferences. We will send details regarding making up snow days and Parent-Teacher Conferences (if needed) on Monday. Have a wonderful day, and stay warm!

Due to the inclement weather predicted for tomorrow, OTPS will be closed on Tuesday, 2/18. This will be a traditional snow day, and no work will be assigned for students. Please stay warm and safe!

Good morning OTPS families, and Happy President's Day! We are keeping a very close eye on the weather throughout today and will make a final determination about school sometime after 6:00. If we have to close for a snow day, we will send text and email messages. We will also send updates to our OTPS website and app and the local news stations. There is one remaining snow day in our calendar, so if we are closed tomorrow no work will be sent for students. As always, we appreciate your patience and understanding while we make the best decisions to keep our students safe!

Due to snow days, the OUE Book Fair will remain open through Tuesday of next week. Thank you!

We recognize some students still have money on their e-wallets to spend at the Book Fair. We are working on extending it and will be in communication as soon as we have more information. Thank you for your patience!

Due to the snow day tomorrow, Thursday, we have rescheduled Valentine's parties to Tuesday, February 18. They will be at the same times:
2nd: 1:00
3rd: 1:30
4th and 5th: 2 pm
As a reminder, school is closed Friday for a collaboration day for teachers and again on Monday for Presidents' Day. Enjoy the long weekend and we will see everyone back on Tuesday!

Correction, there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, 2/17, due to President's Day. We will welcome students back on Tuesday. Thank you!

Out of an abundance of caution, we will be taking another snow day tomorrow. We apologize for the later notice, but we have been hoping that roads would improve enough that it would be safe for students to come to school. However, the roads on the north end of the district are still icy and slick. As a reminder, students are already off for Teacher Collaboration Day on Friday, so we look forward to seeing our students back on Monday. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Parents and guardians,
We are aware that some families are using an outdated mobile app which is called "Wengage by Sylogist". The icon for this app is a blue schoolhouse on a white background, and it is not a functioning app at this time. Please delete this app and use the Oologah-Talala Public Schools app, which has a white background and three running mustangs as the icon. Please use the OTPS app for all business related to the school, including paying lunch balances, from this point forward. Thank you!

It’s not too late to sign up for pictures with the FAMOUS Cleo! We love her so much and what a perfect way to show it! Get your sign up turned in by Feb. 6th!
All proceeds go to the care and training of Cleo.

Good morning,
Shortly before 8:00 this morning, Oologah-Talala Public Schools was made aware of a concerning social media post involving Oologah High School. Immediately upon receiving this information, OTPS administrators met with Rogers County Sheriff’s Office and the Oologah Police Department to simultaneously ensure that the students on campus were safe and that the threat was fully investigated as quickly as possible. Law enforcement presence was increased across the entire campus and OHS was placed on lock-out procedures. Students from both OHS and OMS were also not allowed to travel between buildings for classes unattended. Throughout this process, several messages were sent to all parents and guardians within the district as well as to staff within the schools. Officer Tice, Oologah police, and school administrators made personal contact with every student named as being potentially involved in the situation. Upon conclusion of their investigation, the district was advised that the threat to OTPS was not credible and that students could safely return to their normal schedule.
We would like to issue a special thank you to Officer Tice, Officer Rhoden, Rogers County Sheriff's Office and the Oologah Police Department for their quick and effective response to this situation. Also, thank you to parents, guardians and staff for your patience and trust while we navigated through this unsettling event.
Respectfully,
Dr. David Wilkins
Superintendent, Oologah-Talala Public Schools

Please see the attached graphic with information about Counselors Week next week! We can't wait to celebrate our Mrs. Murphy!

The main entrance to the parking lot will be accessible again beginning Monday. Please be cautious and mindful of traffic and buses in that area. Thank you for pulling all the way up to the yellow line when dropping off students--this greatly helps the flow of traffic.
As a reminder, we will celebrate the 100th Day of School on Friday! Students are encouraged to dress like they are 100 years old, or wear something with 100 items on it. Have a great week!

There will be more traffic this morning due to an event in the auditorium. Therefore, the cones will not be out and you may use the main entrance for Upper drop off this morning. Thank you for your patience!
