Policy EHAG: Career Programs

Career Programs

The Oologah-Talala Board of Education recognizes that there is no one best way to educate students. Every student should be allowed the opportunity to learn in a situation that will encourage maximum development of abilities and skills. Therefore, the board of education may contract with the State Department of Career and Technology Education to provide career and technological programs for the school system. Such programs will include Technology Education, Vocational Agriculture and Vocational Home Economics.

High school students in tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades who wish to train for jobs requiring technical training may attend the Northeast Technology Center in Claremore, OK. This will allow students to acquire skills leading to immediate employment.

Tuition and transportation are provided at no charge to the student. Fee waivers are available to students who wish to go to the technology center during the year following graduation from high school.

Attendance will be on a half-time basis. Guidelines for attending the technology center will be set by the administration subject to the approval of the board.
